Use case · Auto repair & garages

The car is fixed. The customer has moved on. Your bay is blocked for two weeks.

Ingest is garage management software for workshops that run on WhatsApp. Every vehicle is a record with its owner, job history and estimate, so Ingest can send the estimate, chase the approval, remind the customer when the car is ready, and stop your mechanics from becoming debt collectors with spanners.

The problem garages know

Sound familiar? None of this is a discipline problem. It's a tools problem.

The approval that never comes

You send a WhatsApp voice note with the estimate for the brake pads and shocks. The customer reads it, means to reply, gets distracted. The car sits on your lift for five days while you lose other jobs you could have taken.

The parts run-around

The alternator you ordered is in, but the customer hasn't sent the deposit. Or was it the other way around? You have nine open jobs and the details are in nine different chats. Someone is getting the wrong part message.

The finished car nobody collects

The Corolla has been ready for ten days. You've messaged twice — no reply. You can't park a paying customer's job outside forever, but you also can't just release the car without payment. So it blocks a bay you need.

What Ingest does for garages

Not just replies — proactive outreach, at the right time, in the right tone.

The approval that arrives in an hour

You send the estimate as a structured WhatsApp message — parts, labor, total, photos attached: “Hi Kofi, your Corolla needs front brake pads and shocks: GH¢ 1,850 total. Reply APPROVE to start, or call with questions.” If Kofi doesn't reply in 4 hours, Ingest follows up once. If he approves, it alerts your mechanic and logs the approval on the job record — no more “you never told me” arguments.

The parts deposit that doesn't need chasing

The alternator requires a 50% deposit before the supplier releases it. Ingest sends the payment link over mobile money the moment the job is approved. When the deposit lands, it alerts the parts buyer to collect. When the part arrives, it messages the customer: "Your part is in — we'll start tomorrow."

The pickup that unblocks your bay

The Corolla is ready. Ingest messages Kofi with the final invoice and a payment link. No reply in 24 hours? It sends a follow-up: “Your car is ready and we'll need the bay from Monday — final payment unlocks pickup anytime.” If another 48 hours pass, it flags you to call. Most cars leave before the bay is ever at risk.

Team memory

Your head mechanic is on leave. The apprentice opens the Corolla's record and sees everything: last service, the approval with photos, the parts ordered, the deposit paid, and the customer's preferred contact time. He gives the customer a confident update on his first call — and the customer can't tell the difference.

“I used to spend my evenings sending "your car is ready" messages and arguing about estimates. Now Ingest sends the estimate, gets the approval, and reminds customers to pick up — with the payment link right there. My bays turn over twice as fast.”
