Use case · Landlords & property managers

12 tenants, 12 due dates, and one WhatsApp thread you'd rather delete.

Ingest is rent follow-up software for landlords and property managers. Each tenant is a record with rent due, payment history, lease dates and maintenance notes, so Ingest sends a polite WhatsApp reminder before rent day, follows up only when it is still unpaid, and keeps every property's history in one place instead of one endless thread.

The problem landlords know

Sound familiar? None of this is a discipline problem. It's a tools problem.

The rent chase that never ends

It's the 5th. Three tenants haven't paid. You don't want to seem harsh to the one who's been there five years, and you don't want to seem soft to the one who's late every month. So you type and delete the same message four times.

The repair request that drowns in the group chat

A tenant sends "the kitchen tap is leaking" into a WhatsApp group with seven other tenants. By morning, it's forty messages deep under someone's prayer chain and a photo of a cat. The tap leaks for three more weeks.

The renewal you remember too late

Adaeze's lease expires next month. You meant to discuss renewal in January. It's now three weeks to expiry, she's already viewed two other places, and you're about to lose your best tenant to paperwork.

What Ingest does for landlords

Not just replies — proactive outreach, at the right time, in the right tone.

The rent reminder with a way to pay

Three days before rent is due, Ingest sends each tenant a personal WhatsApp — not a group blast: “Hi Adaeze, October rent (GH¢ 3,500) falls due on the 1st. Here's your one-tap payment link.” When the payment lands via MoMo or bank, the receipt goes out automatically and her ledger updates. If day 3 passes with no payment, Ingest sends a firmer follow-up — and only then flags you.

The repair that gets fixed, not buried

A tenant messages about the leaking tap. Ingest turns it into a structured maintenance ticket with photos, unit number, and urgency — and notifies your plumber directly. When it's fixed, the tenant gets a confirmation and you get the receipt logged. Nothing lives in a group chat anymore.

The renewal that happens on time

Sixty days before Adaeze's lease expires, Ingest sends her a warm check-in: “Your lease comes up in October — happy to keep you at the same rate for another year.” She replies yes, the new terms are logged, and the rent schedule updates. You kept your best tenant without a single awkward phone call.

Team memory

Your caretaker, your agent, and your accountant all see the same property record. Who paid, who's behind and why, which repairs are open, and what Ingest already handled. When you travel, the building runs itself — and nobody has to scroll a group chat to find out what's going on.

“I manage 8 units across two buildings. Rent collection used to mean 8 separate WhatsApp negotiations every month. Now reminders, receipts, and balances run themselves, and I only get involved when a conversation actually needs a human.”
